Privacy Policy

The short version

This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no tracking pixels and makes no requests to third-party servers. Fonts are served from this domain rather than from Google, so visiting this site does not disclose your IP address to any advertising or analytics company.

If you switch the language manually, your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage so that it is still there the next time you visit. It never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us.

Server logs

We run this site on our own server, rented from Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany) and located in Helsinki, Finland. Our web server records what any web server records in order to deliver pages and defend against abuse: IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, the referring page and your browser and operating system version. Hetzner provides the infrastructure as our processor under Art. 28 GDPR; the data does not leave the EU.

These logs are processed on the legal basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating a secure and functioning website. They are not combined with any other data and are not used to identify individual visitors.

When you contact us

If you write to us by email or call us, we process the details you provide (your name, contact details and whatever you tell us) solely to answer your enquiry and, if it leads to one, to carry out the resulting engagement. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual steps, otherwise legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f).

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as it is commercially relevant, and for longer only where statutory retention rules require it. We do not sell your data, and we do not pass it to third parties for their own purposes.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and request a portable copy. Write to us at the address on this page and we will respond.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority if you believe we have handled your data unlawfully.
